All you need to know about Vista Print

I was one of those people who received tons of spam from Vista Print. Even a site I joined sent offers for points from buying stuff from Vista Print. For the longest time I refused to buy anything from them. I had figured out their scam: you get freebees but if you want them "now" you pay the price they're worth through shipping.

This last year I decided to take the plunge. I knew of people and even some in the organization I work for who had bought stuff from Vista Print w/o any remorse. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

I took advantage of the following "free" items offered by Vista Print:
- Free Personalized Notepad
- Free Personalized Sticky Note Pad
- Free Personalized 250 Business Cards
- Free Personalized 10 Magnetic Calendars
- Free Personalized Self-Inking Stamper

I made the order using their free templates. If you want to make your own style or template, they charge extra. If you use their templates and images, you get the item free as offered and only pay shipping / taxes. I chose the 21 day period which would be cheapest. I paid about $8 dollars total for all the items listed above using slow shipping. I also found out Vista Print is hosted by a company in the Bahamas. Made me a bit nervous at first but I guess if anyone else had had issues, I'd have heard by now.

When I came back from Christmas Holidays, my items were waiting for me. Everything came out beautifully! I had to actually put some assembly into the self-inking stamper but it was very minimal. They separate the self-inker stamp part from the plate you place in there that has your information they printed. If you would like to see images, check out this link to my pics of all the items in my Photobucket acct:

So if you have received the spam about Vista Print and don't mind using their templates, you can have your own self-inking stamper, personalized business cards or any number of things they offer free for a very minimal and reasonable price.

Now you know... it's not as much of a scam as you thought!
