My Points - Get freebees from reading email
What is MyPoints and why do you care? MyPoints is a site that allows members to join for free and earn points by either following sponsor links to earn free points or actually buying from those same sponsor links and earning a higher number of points based on dollars spent at that particular sponsor. I joined MyPoints back in the 90s when it was known as "BonusMail.com" and the internet boom was at it's height. Then came the crash and people went under or disappeared. Bonusmail stayed around and became MyPoints.com providing the same services it did during the boom. When it was still Bonusmail, you could earn more points through freebies. Then the crash came and freebie points for reading went down and you could only earn high amounts of points if you bought stuff. It's evened out a bit and in a few months (less than 5 months) you can earn enough points with freebie points (reading and following a sponsor's link) to get at least a $5 to $10 dollar gift card to a store you've "actually" heard of. Unlike other sites I've checked out, MyPoints actually has good gift cards for places you've heard of and want to get freebies for. Some of the sponsors include but are not limited to: Old Navy, ITunes, Kohls, JCPenney's and many many more! I tend to rely on the free points and just wait till I get enough to get a $25 dollar certificate. That usually takes me around 6 mos of reading mails but then I'm on what I call the "spam me" option. I told them to send me everything and anything daily. If you join, you can choose how many emails and what sort of sponsors you want to read about although that does limit your free points if you aren't willing to buy through a sponsor's link. Buying through a sponsor's link allows you to earn a certain amount of points per dollar spent in addition to the free points gotten for following the link.
